Yesterday the apple bread did not happen.  That’s because this happened:

And this:

And then this:

While looking at this:

Those are not conducive to cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves, nor cranking up the oven to 375 degrees.  Instead, there was a refreshing cup of tea after the long drive, and popcorn for dinner, followed by an early bedtime.  It was magnificent weather for October 2, 85 degrees and brilliant sun with a perfectly gentle breeze that made us happy to be alive.

While today, the government is still shut down and squabbling still rages on and a tropical storm named after my daughter is brewing.  I feel an urge to tidy up my home, and since that urge doesn’t come around too often, I’d best be acting on it pronto.

PS – Dear WordPress, any reason why the pop-up box to edit photos stubbornly remains blank?  I like my photos centered and captioned, and you are allowing me to do neither.   Love, Muttikins.

  1. You can edit photos but you have to do it from within the “Edit Post” page. Open the “Edit Post” page, click on “Add Media” and then “Media Library.” Select the photo you want to edit, and make your changes in the “Attachment Details” box to the right of the thumbnails. I know it seems like you should be able to edit photos on the “Edit Media” page, but there’s a really good reason that you can’t and that reason is that WordPress is terrible.

So my old system of clicking on the photo and then the little picture inside the photo is no longer available? Figures. I was good at that. Thanks for the tip.
